Golden elixir.*

Turmeric is a flowering plant from the Ginger family and is native to India. Turmeric has been used for thousands of years as a food and medicine and is considered by many as one of the most effective and powerful herbs known to humankind. Turmeric and its main active ingredient, Curcumin, has been subjected to thousands of laboratory and clinical trials and has many well documented health benefits. Despite its impressive history, the active ingredients within Turmeric are relatively difficult to digest and absorb, and it has been shown that adding black pepper (specifically the natural compound Piperine) to turmeric can greatly enhance its bioavailability. Because most of the active ingredients in Turmeric are oil soluble, cooking the herb with healthy fats and oils can also improve bioavailability.*

Key Functions

Turmeric and its most active compound, Curcumin, have many scientifically proven health supporting benefits. These are delivered via anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-histamine and micro-circulation promoting actions.*

According to modern research, Turmeric may have value in supporting general cardiovascular health via healthy blood vessels and micro-circulation, mood and mental functions, general aches, pains and arthritis, and even play a roll in the prevention of certain cancers.* If in doubt, always consult your doctor or a licensed health care provider before taking any medications, over-the-counter drugs, supplements or herbs.
